Arc welding refers to a group of welding processes that use a welding power supply to create an electric arc between an electrode and the base material to melt metals at the welding point. They can use either Direct current|direct (DC) or Alternating current|alternating (AC) current, and consumable or non-consumable electrodes. The welding region is sometimes protected by some type of inert or semi-inert gas, known as a shielding gas, and filler material is sometimes used as well.

Arthrogryposis (Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita) is a muscle disorder that causes multiple joint contractures at birth. A contracture is a limitation in the range of motion of a joint. In some cases, few joints may be affected and the range of motion may be nearly normal. In the "classic" case of arthrogryposis, hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, hips, feet and knees are affected. In the most severe cases, nearly every body joint may be involved, including the jaw and back. Frequently, the contractures are accompanied by muscle weakness, which further limits movement. Arthrogryposis is relatively rare, occurring in approximately one in 3,000 births. In most cases, arthrogryposis is not a genetic condition and does not occur more than once in a family. In about 30% of the cases, a genetic cause can be identified. The risk of recurrence for these cases varies with the type of genetic disorder. Research has shown that anything that prevents normal joint movement before birth ! can result in joint contractures. The joint itself may be normal. However, when a joint is not moved for a period of time, extra connective tissue tends to grow around it, fixing it in position. Lack of joint movement also means that tendons connecting to the joint are not stretched to their normal length; short tendons, in turn, make normal joint movement difficult. (This same kind of problem can develop after birth in joints that are immobilized for long periods of time in casts.) In general, there are four causes for limitation of joint movement before birth: * Muscles do not develop properly (atrophy). In most cases, the specific cause for muscular atrophy cannot be identified. Suspected causes include muscle diseases (for example, congenital muscular dystrophies), maternal fever during pregnancy, and viruses, which may damage Cell (biology)|cells that transmit nerve impulses to the muscles.
* There is not sufficient room in the uterus for normal movement. For example, the mother may lack a normal amount of amniotic fluid, or have an abnormally shaped uterus.
* Central nervous system and spinal cord are malformed. In these cases, a wide range of other conditions usually accompanies arthrogryposis.
* Tendons, bones, joints or joint linings may develop abnormally. For example, tendons may not be connected to the proper place in a joint.

This cd is not a real standout. The music is a cross between M. Manson, and Dope, with a little of the Pumkins. The singer sounds simular to the Pumkins singer B. Corgan. The music is simular to Manson & the new sound of Dope. The cd isnt all that bad, the only drawback is it has been done. Its not a real fresh sound, not very original in other words. Just dont get me wrong they sound good its very tight, not over produced & a good cd, with straight foward rockers. Dont worry for if you do buy it, you wont be mad at yourself later.

To the best of scientific knowledge, all animals and plants synthesize their own vitamin C, except for a small number of animals, including guinea pigs, humans, apes, the red-vented bulbul, a Megabat|fruit-eating bat and a species of trout, that are not able to. This, along with the related fact that man possesses three of the four enzymes that animals employ to manufacture the substance in relatively large amounts, has led researchers such as Irwin Stone and Linus Pauling to hypothesize that man once manufactured this substance in the body millions of years ago in quantities roughly estimated at 3,000-4,000 mg daily, but later lost the ability to do this through evolution. If true, this would of course mean that vitamin C was misnamed as a vitamin and is in fact a vita! l macronutrient like fat or carbohydrate.

Vitamin C was first isolated in 1928, and in 1932 it was proved to be the agent which prevents scurvy. Albert Szent-Gy?rgyi was awarded the Nobel Prize for this feat.Vitamin C is a weak acid, called ascorbic acid or ascorbate (an L-enantiomer of ascorbic acid; an l-enantiomer is simply one of two mirror image forms of the same chemical molecular structure, see optical isomerism|optical isomers). The active part of the substance is the ascorbate ion, which can express itself as either an acid or a salt of ascorbate that is neutral or slightly basic. Commercial vitamin C is often a mix of ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbate and/or other ascorbates. See the ascorbic acid article for a description of the molecule's chemical properties.

The free floating screed is a device pioneered by Barber Greene Company in the 1930s that revolutionized the asphalt paving process. Barber Greene dominated the market until the patent expired in 1955, and now all major asphalt paver manufacturers use this design principle in their equipment.The free floating screed has become standard because of the smoothing or averaging effect it can have on the existing base course. Since the only connection between the asphalt paver and the screed is the tow arm, the screed can "float" vertically relative to the paver. This allows the paver to traverse uneven ground while the screed floats over the material placed in front of it.The free floating screed has a number of forces acting on it that, when in equilibrium, allow the depth behind the screed to be constant.* Tow arm pull: the force exerted on the screed by the paver dragging it
* Mass: the weight of the screed
* Resistance of the head of material: the resistance from the pile of material in front of the screedThe angle at which the tow arm pull is exerted on the screed also contributes to the motion; its resultant force is either added or subtracted from the mass of the screed.If each of these forces is constant, altering the angle of the screed to the horizontal (angle of attack) will control the amount of material extruded behind the screed. Increasing the angle angle of attack will cause the screed to climb higher through the pile of material, and therefore raise its trailing edge, increasing the amount of material extruded behind the screed. Similarly, reducing the angle of attack will reduce the amount of material extruded.

An essential amino acid for an organism is an amino acid that cannot be synthesized by the organism from other available resources, and therefore must be supplied as part of its diet.Eight amino acids are generally regarded as essential for humans: tryptophan, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, valine, leucine, isoleucine. Two others, histidine and arginine are essential only in children. A good mnemonic device for remembering these is "Private Tim Hall", abbreviated as: ''PVT TIM HALL''.Which amino acids are essential, varies from species to species, as different metabolisms are able to synthesize different substances. For instance, taurine (which is not, by strict definition, an amino acid) is essential for cats, but not for dogs. Thus, dog food is not nutritionally sufficient for cats, and taurine is added to commercial cat food, but not to dog food.
The distinction between essential and non-essential amino acids is somewhat unclear, as some amino acids can be produced from others. The sulfur-containing amino acids, methionine and homocysteine, can be converted into each other but neither can be synthesized from scratch in humans. Likewise, cysteine can be made from homocysteine, but not from scratch. So, for convenience, sulfur-containing amino acids are sometimes considered a single pool of nutritionally-equivalent amino acids. Likewise arginine, ornithine, and citrulline, which are interconvertible by the urea cycle, are considered a single pool.
